Bio diesel is the new energy star, the name is a general one for a variety of ester-based oxygenated fuels made from soybean oil or other vegetable oils or animal fats

Please note that the venture between Conoco Phillips and Tyson is to create renewable diesel fuel, not biodiesel. Biodiesel is an EPA approved motor fuel that must pass a strict specification. The proposed renewable diesel is not yet EPA approved and will not pass the current biodiesel specification. Additionally, the process proposed by Conoco Phillips will simply add the Tyson fats to their current refining stream, yielding little additional fuel into the US market due to refinery capacity.

ConocoPhillips and Tysons Teamup to Create Biodiesel Fuel

This agreement seems to make perfect sense: Tysons - the world's largest meat processing company - will provide ConocoPhillips - one of the world's largest oil companies - with the raw material necessary to produce nearly 200 million gallons
