Fuel Economy Log - Week 15
August 16th, 2006 | by Brian Carr |This past week I drove 392.9 miles, used 11.298 gallons of gas and paid $3.00 per gallon, all of which adds up to an average fuel economy of 34.78 mpg, or 19.9% above my car’s average.
This 19.9% increase equates to a savings of roughly $.60 per gallon, which saved me $6.78 this fill up.
Combining this week’s savings with my previous 14 week total, I’ve now saved $75.58 on gas.
I think the reason I was able to achieve better gas mileage this past week was the decrease in temperature (in the low 80’s most of the week, so I was able to use my air conditioning a lot less) and I have found a new, less congested route home from work.
If I can consistently achive this sort of gas mileage, I’ll be a very happy driver!
