Top 5 Least Fuel Efficient Cars Over $100k
October 10th, 2006 | by Brian Carr |Let’s be perfectly honest here, if you can afford a car over $100 grand, you’re probably not going to searching your couches looking for loose change when it comes time to fill up - even though you probably have to fill up with premium!
That being said, if you’re trying to buy a car that’s both high end and fuel conscious, there are a couple of cars you may want to stay away from.
Here are the Top 5 Least Fuel Efficient Cars with a Price Over $100K
- Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Coupe - $1,400,00 - 8 mpg city / 15 mpg highway
- Bentley Arnage Sedan - $243,990 - 10 mpg city / 14 mpg highway
- Ferrari 612 Scaglietti Coupe - $262,634 - 10 mpg city / 18 mpg highway
- Lamborghini Gallardo Coupe - $175,000 - 11 mpg city / 18 mpg highway
- Aston Martin DB9 Convertible - $178,400 - 11 mpg city / 18 mpg highway
I think the most surprising thing about this list is that it doesn’t contain any Sport Utility Vehicles. In all likelihood, this stems from the fact that all of the cars on this list are extremely high end sports cars with enormous engines. Even the Bentley, which is a sedan, could out muscle 99% of the cars on the road.
Again, I’m sure if you have the money to burn on a $1.4 million dollar car, you’re not exactly worried about how much it’s going to cost you to fill up each time.
That being said, if I had a car that cost as much as a house, I would expect it to go years without a fill up!

That’s just the posted fuel economy… if you drive a Mercedes S65 AMG around without coasting at every opprotunity you’ll get ~6 miles to the gallon. There’s a huge discrepency between the sticker’s MPG and actual.

But the same will apply to all of the cars listed. They will get relatively less mpg then the sticker’s mpg but will still be the least fuel efficient cars which is the general purpose of the list.
