Gas Attendants Starting to Catch Flack
April 8th, 2007 | by Brian Carr |Thanks to the nearly 27% jump in gas prices since the end of January, it seems most drivers are becoming increasingly frustrated with the amount of money that they have to pay to fill their car’s tank.
Unfortunately, it seems more and more people are needlessly taking out their frustrations on the people who make sure we can fill up our cars as opposed to the people who are setting the prices we have to pay.
According to an article published in Statesman Journal, Salem, Oregon gas station attendant Jason Hanson stated, “It seems like the worse their [the consumer] day is going, the worse they’re trying to make mine.”
Station manager Robert Peak followed, “I get a lot of complaints about gas prices. Mostly people who don’t understand and think I’m trying to rip them off.”
Anyway, I think it goes without saying, no matter how frustrated you are with gas prices and the fact that you’re having to pay more at the pump, you probably shouldn’t take it out on the people who have no say in what the gas prices actually are.
I mean, you wouldn’t yell at your server in a restaurant if the price of the food suddenly increased, right? So, take it easy on gas station attendants and don’t take your frustrations out on them.
