Warships Deployed to Protect Oil Facilities

According to recent intelligence reports, it appears al-Qaida may attempt to cripple the “Western World” by staging attacks on Middle East oil production facilities, sending oil prices well past this summer’s all-time highs and bringing the world economy to a grinding halt.

Determined to not take these reports lightly, the British navy has deployed several warships to patrol the waters off the coast of Saudi Arabia and has asked all merchant vehicles to report any suspicious vessels.  It is believed that any attack against oil facilities would likely be done at oil ports along the Saudi Arabian coast.

It has long been suspected that due to the increased security measures implemented throughout the United States and Europe, al-Qaida and other terrorist factions would begin to look for less secure places to attack to inflict damage on the “Western” way of life.

While most of the Middle Eastern governments have proclaimed the oil production facilities safe and secure, it certainly seems that many Western countries aren’t buying in and will step up efforts to protect oil facilities.

It now appears that this will just become another reason for the American people to continue to push for independence from foreign oil and try and find cleaner, easily renewable resources that can be produced within the United States.
